THE FRIENDS ARRIVE

Christy and the girls arrived very early on Monday morning the 21st of October. It wasn't long before all of the girls were in the pool and having a grand time. It is always more fun with more kids. I couldn't help myself and soon I was breaking out the good camera to get some pictures of this wild beauties.

That night we went to Downtown Disney for dinner. We tried out a little restaurant that we all ended up liking and then we went on the hunt. Because the goal for that night was for Christy to find Thanksgiving Mickey and Minnie. It was the only holiday she didn't have and she had to have them. We didn't find them in the first store and were sent to another and were told they were out, but then I spotted a few and Christy's passion for finding something she thinks she needs was evident for every person in the store. She impressed the check out girl so much with her enthusiasm that she gave Christy the season pass holder discount, even though when she's at Disney World, she is just a regular person.

I've never been to Disney Springs, but it really is just a glorified outdoor mall. We popped into Kate Spade and the girls were all so tired and bored. After snapping a picture we moved on. We had to get home so we could get some rest for our big day at EPCOT the next morning.

HOT AND THRISTY FARMS

So I follow this girl on Instagram that is a Disney World fan. She posted about this amazing farm spot called Southern Hills Farms and the pictures she took looked so lovely. I read all the reviews and people just raved about this place so I decided to drag us all there for another try at the Christmas card photoshoot on Sunday October 20th. You have to buy the tickets in advance and they only allow so many people so I didn't think it would be too crowded. I was wrong.

We had to wait in a very long car line to get in to the parking lot and it was so so so hot. I was picturing rows and rows of flowers, but there was just a small grouping of them. Vivi was not in the mood and poor Stella's face got red and sweaty fast since I was making her wear a sweater. We still got some great pictures, but the whole adventure wasn't really that enjoyable. Our feet got full of sand, we were thirsty and turns out...Vivi is deathly afraid of sunflowers. We got into the sunflower portion of the place and the pickings to get pictures where there weren't a ton of other people were limited. But Vivi just started to freak out about the flowers. It was weird. I don't even know what it was about them that she didn't like. I wish we had been more patient with her but we were all hot and thirsty.

They had a pretty little orchard area that made for a few more good shots, but I always try not to make my kids pose for too many pictures. So we called it a day. I think we thought about walking around and checking out the food and stuff, but the lines were INSANE. Overall, it was not my favorite outing, but I am glad we tried something new. You never know unless you try. I have to say though, if you look at the pictures, it looks like a magical night...honestly it feels me with some very good memories six months later.
