Stella looked forward to the premiere of the new Disney original movie The Descendants for months! When the movie was finally able to be viewed by her little eyes while we were in Pheonix she fell in love and she fell hard. She couldn't wait to share it with her bestie Ady. With nothing but the actual movie and internet videos to help them, they memorized the words to a few songs (making little Preston memorize too), and pretty soon a full-blown production was in the works.
They worked on their show for an entire week all day, every day. They figured out costumes, stage directions, and even created their own props. It was pretty intense. They were very excited to present their show to their families. The first show began with much excitement, but soon the weather changed and we were rained out. The cast was pretty upset about it. After all of their hard work I couldn't blame them.
You will be delighted to hear that because of the many fans and such a dedicated
cast...the show was performed again soon to a rapt audience. There was even an encore performance later in the week for aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, and Gummows.
I was especially impressed with Stella's Maleficent headpiece that Ady made out of paper. But that wasn't the only surprise. The actors had very complicated stage directions and they had to memorize some long new songs in just a few days. They also performed a few favorites from High School Musical and Teen Beach Movie. I was pretty proud, and I bet even Walt Disney himself would agree with me: BRAVO!
Note: These shows took place August 7 & 8, 2015.
