EXTREME COUPONER

One night Vivien asked if she could cut something. So I gave her some old coupons and she went to town on them for hours. I was so impressed because she actually cut out the coupons like you are supposed to. The next morning on May 29th, she asked for more and I wasn't going to be the one to deny her so I got out another stack and let her go to town. This time though I had to document her coupon clipping talent with pictures.

OUR SPOON FULL OF SUGAR

Vivi's spring dance recital was coming up (May 18th), and she was SICK. The illness that began at Disneyland continued and continued strong. At one point I had to come to the conclusion that she might not be able to perform, and that had to be okay. We didn't have her costume yet so on Friday morning before the recital I dragged her sick body to Miss Julie's so we could pick up the outfit. Once I had it in my hands, and then put it on Vivien to try on the size...I knew...we were NOT going to miss this performance. The costume was too cute and she had enough wellness in her to act alive for an hour. I think seeing the costume pepped her up too. She couldn't wait for the next day and her recital...

Oh, man she was the cutest. Her first dance was a tap number and it was to Spoon Full of Sugar. She looked like a spoon overflowing with sugar. I'm not sure Vivi understands the concept of choreography, but she understands the concept of being on stage and she loves it. She smiles and makes friends with whoever she is standing next to, and she kept showing off her costume to the other girls even though they were wearing the same thing.

Her ballet number was to Let's Go Fly A Kite. I could tell she preferred her pink look, but was still pretty into her fluffy kite costume. Oh man, what a little joy she is. After the show we took pictures and then headed home. And she really was done for the day, her body still needed more rest. She was NOT done however with wearing her costume. She wore "Spoon full of Sugar!" all night long as she watched TV, played with playdoh and napped.

It has been a wonderful year of dance for Vivien and her mom. I really never thought I would get to do tiny preschool age stuff again and I am so happy to being able to be a mom to a preschooler with sass all over again. Lucky us.
