LAGOON SUMMER 2019

Our Lagoon summer was not as crazy as it has been in year's past. I don't know what it was, but we were always busy with other stuff this summer and we just didn't get up there like we used to. I think some of the shine had worn off as well. But I tell ya, we were excited to go at the beginning of the summer. There is just something about being back there that says "it is summer in Utah right now!"

Our first Summer trip was on May 31st.  It was the first Friday of the season and the park was really quiet. The weather was perfect, not too hot and not too cold. We started off at Odyesea because that ride is pretty fun and the line is usually long. Vivi was scared to ride it but accepted that we were going to make her. Her and Stella rode together and she loved it. I had to ride by myself and I honestly felt ridiculous riding it and laughing and giggling by myself, still I would do it again. We then checked out the teacups. We made Vivi ride Bombara. I hadn't ridden that ride in a few years. But I thought Vivi might like it since she loved Slinky Dog at Disney World. She seemed to think it was fun, and she willingly rode it twice so she could sit next to Stella, but that was the last time she rode it that summer. She never wanted to go again, and I don't believe in forcing kids to ride rides (most of the time.)

I rode the Dragonfly with the kids, and that is my last time riding that horrific torture chamber. Oh man, I got so sick and dizzy on that thing. It is the perfect speed and swinging motion for me to get BLEH....

I'm sure we went on a few other rides, but I think our last one was Puff. Vivi I think likes Puff...but who knows really. It was one of my favorite Lagoon days of all time though. It was such a chill beautiful day, and we had the whole summer ahead of us. I posted a picture of us in our stories and Lagoon shared our post too so we felt famous for a few seconds.

The following week on June 7 we went with the Bookers. I don't think we stayed all that long and we let the big girls go off by themselves. Finn was so cute because he loved going on rides with Vivi. It is strange to think that my big car accident was the next day.

It basically took a whole month to get back to the park since we didn't go again until July 11th. The park was HOT and it was also dead and we had no lines the whole day. Ash and I broke off and I took the big girls on the roller coaster and the spider while Ashley watched the little's ride together. When we met back up I had Vivi and Finn pose together and I could not get Finn to smile normal...he is at that stage now I guess. Vivi loves it though so I'm not concerned.

Since it was 7-11 we stopped off to get our free Slurpees on the way home, and then me and Vivi and Stella stopped at another one by our house so we got two for the day. 7-11 day is always one of my favorites.

On July 18th, me and the girls went for an early evening visit...my favorite time at the park. This is Stella's last year that she will be short enough for the baby rides so we made quite a joke out of her riding the baby rides with Vivi for the last time. That is our only option when we go with just us because most rides are either for littles or bigs. Vivi LOVES the carousel at Disneyland, but for some reason still does not love it at Lagoon. The Lagoon one moves faster, but other than that I don't get it. She was freaking out this visit. She also was NOT having anything to do with Puff, but after it was over she said she liked it. Maybe she never likes those rides, she only likes that they are over.

The last thing we did was ride the train together. We had a bit of a wait before it took off so we kind of went on a photo spree posing it up. Vivi was making me laugh as she totally posed like Stella and I ever picture. That girl can keep up with the posing that is for sure, and obviously I love it.

Lyndsey and Asher are our original Lagoon pals and we only went with them one time this year and that was July 23rd. We rode the roller coaster first and that is all of the pictures I took, so honestly that is all I remember. I'm sure we rode Cannibal too...which I have to say I don't like. I feel like I am legit going to die every time I ride it and I'm not sure it it worth the thrill anymore.

And just like that, school was about to start and we needed to make another trip before dumb school started. So we went on August 12th and we brought mom. Mom was in Florida most of the summer so it was good to hang with her. We went on a few rides, but we spent a good amount of time walking around Pioneer Village and enjoying the old buildings. It was such a pretty night and the peacocks were out and about with us as well. Stella was fascinated with the old buildings and freaked out of course by the dentist. When we got to the church and she saw how small it was she said. "I know why the church is so small...everyone is dying at the dentist."

September 2 was Memorial Day and it was our last summer visit. I made more of an effort to go that day too because I just felt like we had not made the most of Lagoon that summer. Also we really wanted to fit in a visit with Shari who also had a pass last summer. The highlight of the day for sure was having a friend to ride Odyssea with me. I got brave enough to video it with my phone and the video was hilarious.

One of my favorite parts of the day was when Shari and Stella rode Ladybug Bop and Vivi and I rode the jeeps. I held her in line and we just went back and forth declaring our love for each other and giving each other kisses. I love those times with Vivi. I don't take one day of her little self for granted. We ended the visit with our first and last ride on Rattlesanke Rapids of the year. It was Vivi's first time and I don't think she liked it very much, but she did it and said she had fun when it was over...again though I am not sure if she is saying that because she is off of those scary rides or if she really likes them.

So that was our summer of Lagoon. We still popped in a few more times for Frightmares, but still not as many times as before. And this Christmas when it was time to buy them for Black Friday I decided that we weren't going to buy them this year. I think this is going to be a good call as we have Disney passes and our summer looks nuts already. I think Vivi is the most bummed, but I also think a year off will be good. In the end though I was happy every time we did go this year. I love hanging out and feeling the summer vibes.
