IDAHO SUMMER VISIT 2019

Our annual summer visit to Idaho Falls is always a highlight of our summer vacation. We love just hanging out and having fun with our Gummows. We arrived on June 26th and it was a baseball watching day. First Catcher had a game and he did awesome and then Wyn had a game and he also did awesome. I enjoy watching the boys play, but mostly I like hanging out on the grass enjoying the company.

We had to get up early the next day to watch Wyn play a championship game in his smaller league. The game was close and went into quadruple overtime, but in the end his team took the championship.

That night we had plans to head to the sand dunes. We stopped off at the Beehive Credit Union member barbecue to support Craig. We got there late because of construction on the highway, but we made it in time to watch a little bit of the fish scramble. Which is a tradition I find grotesque and fascinating at the same time. It is such a small town Idaho thing and I love that about it, but it is also crazy how people get in this tub and chase the fish around and grab them and then they die. It's kind of brutal if you think about it.

We had a beautiful night out at the dunes. Vivien had a potty emergency and she peed all over her clothes and that was unfortunate, but we made it work. Then as it got dark the mosquitoes came out in full force. Their bites actually hurt and they were biting through my clothes there was no way to fight them. The sunset though was so gorgeous. One of the prettiest ones of my life and I just kept looking at it as it changed and got even more beautiful.

On Friday the kids were able to just hang out together. They played outside like little muffins.

Saturday night we were treated to the concert of a lifetime. The exclusive band The Dirty Bedrooms really put out all of the stops for a live show to rival all others. They  had pyrotechnics, costume changes and each song was like a mini music video. It was amazing.

Sunday there were some chalk art masterpieces that appeared at Barb and Dave's house. I was very impressed with Stella's work.

When we left on Monday July 1st. It was time to go, but the kiddos never want to leave. It is always so hard to head back on the road to our house. Our summer trips are the best. Vivi was grabbing onto Wyn hoping that if she held on tight enough she could stay forever. Unfortunately, it didn't work.
